JOHNSON RESIDENCE

The entry promenade is stretched out the through a series of terrace gardens and steps that gradually bring you from the street level up to the entry at the second floor.  Above, a pergola frames the façade and extends the home into the landscape to extend the threshold of the home into garden.

The visitor experiences that transition from the scale of the garden to the scale of the interior. Once inside exposed steel concrete, and timber are woven with vaulted plaster ceilings to once again draw a connection between the architecture of the garden and the interior.
